The Berry That Proved Me Wrong (In 30 Seconds Flat)
Hey there, I’m Hank Watt, a co-founder of Nature’s Wild Berry and your friendly neighborhood skeptic-turned-superfan. If you’re reading this, congratulations—you’ve stumbled upon the very first blog post. And where better to start than at the beginning?
Back in 2013, I was the most hard-to-impress person you could meet. I thought I had the world figured out. If something sounded too good to be true, it definitely was. And these so-called “miracle berries” claiming to make sour things taste sweet? No way. If they existed, they wouldn’t work. If they worked, they wouldn’t work on me. If they did work on me, I wouldn’t be impressed. And if I was impressed, they’d just be another gimmick I’d forget about.
But then… 30 seconds changed everything.
My friend Juliano and I were turning my home kitchen into a juice bar when he handed me a glass of juice that could make a lemon cry. We’re talking 25% celery, 25% peeled cucumber, 20dandelion, and 30% lemon—the kind of drink that lets you know real quick how much you value taste vs. nutrition. I popped a berry in my mouth, let it coat my taste buds, and took a sip.
It. Was. Sweet.
Like, actually delicious. Like, "I could crave this" level of good. Even with the lemon peel on, it was magic. And that was the moment I became a believer.
Now, let’s rewind just a few months. Thanksgiving had just happened, and I was sitting at over 250 pounds, size 52 waist, pre-diabetic, watching Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. That documentary had me thinking about juice fasting, but let’s be real—I wasn’t brave enough to pull the trigger. Still, I knew I needed to get the right nutrients into my body. Problem was, most ready-to-drink juices are loaded with apple, pineapple, pear, agave, or honey. Because let’s face it—bad-tasting juice doesn’t sell. But I refused to waste time and money. If I was going to do this, I needed to make juice that was actually healthy and something I’d want to drink every day.
That’s where the dots connected. I saw the documentary the day after Thanksgiving, got myself a Breville juicer for Christmas, and by March, I had stumbled onto the berry that changed everything.
But here’s where it gets even wilder. On the exact same day I learned about this berry, so did my best friend—3,000 miles away. How we each got there? Two completely different roads. And that, my friends, is where we’ll pick up next time.
Before I go, a few things: ✅ I’ll be posting a new blog at the same time every week. ✅ Each one will be short, sweet (pun intended), and packed with something fun to try with the berry. ✅ I’ll be answering all your burning questions over time, and sometimes bringing in qualified experts. ✅ Every post will have an Easter egg—a secret alphanumeric discount code that’s live for 48 hours only. (You just have to find it.)
See you next time,
Hank Watt
P.S. What’s your go-to healthy-but-borderline-undrinkable juice? I might have a way to fix that. 😏
