Miracle Berries for Independent Grocery

For independent grocery buyers

The item that sells itself, once somebody tastes it

Nature’s Wild Berry is whole freeze-dried miracle berry halves in a plastic-free tin. One piece makes sour and tart foods taste sweet for twenty to forty minutes. It is shelf stable, it is smaller than a deck of cards, and it is best by March 2035.

Start with the part buyers care about

Best by March 2035Not a typo. The tin gives you close to a decade. No date rotation, no markdown cycle, no shrink. If it sits, it sits without costing you anything.
A case is four tinsThe smallest first commitment we can offer. You are not taking a pallet to find out whether it moves in your store.
Ambient, alwaysNo refrigeration, no freezer, no cold chain. It never competes for the space you actually fight over.
Smaller than a deck of cardsThe tin is 2.25 inches across. It merchandises at the register, on a clip strip, or in a basket, without giving up a facing.
Ships direct from usNo distributor account required and no item code to chase. If you already buy through US Foods there is an approved number for that too.
One ingredientFreeze-dried miracle berry. Nothing added. No allergens.

Your downside on this item is four tins that keep until 2035. That is about as bounded as a new listing gets.

Why we come and demo it, and why that is not a favour

This product has one real problem. Nobody believes it until they taste it. A shelf tag cannot explain that a berry makes a lemon taste like lemonade, and a shopper who has never heard of it will not spend money to find out.

So the demo is not marketing support bolted onto a listing. It is how the item sells. Somebody tries it at a table, their face changes, and they buy a tin on the way out. That is the entire mechanism, and it is why we would rather be in fewer stores and actually stand in them.

Hank, our founder, runs the first demos himself. After that we train the brokers and demo staff who cover your store so they can run it without us. Three hours, no equipment, no kitchen access, and a tray of citrus.

Where it works on a shop floor

\n

At the register

\n

Small, novel and giftable. It is an impulse item that people pick up because they want to see what happens.

\n
\n

Produce adjacency

\n

It pairs with the sourest things you already sell. Lemons, limes, grapefruit, rhubarb, green apples.

\n
\n

Wellness and better-for-you

\n

Single ingredient, whole fruit, clean label. It sits comfortably next to the rest of the set.

\n
\n

Gift and grab-and-go

\n

The tin is the package. It needs no wrapping and no extra merchandising to look like a present.

\n
\n

Seasonal and end cap

\n

It demos well as a holiday or event feature and it does not punish you if the feature runs long.

\n
\n

Already recognised

\n

Nature’s Wild Berry appeared on Shark Tank in season 14, and the episode still re-airs on CNBC and streams on Hulu and Disney+.

What it actually does

The berry contains miraculin, a protein that binds to the sweet receptors on the tongue. While it is bound, three things happen. Sour registers as sweet. Bitterness is curbed, meaning lessened rather than switched off. And savory food reads richer.

One piece is a serving, which is one berry half. It is held on the tongue for about five seconds to rehydrate, then chewed and worked across the whole tongue for a full thirty seconds. That chewing is what determines how strong the effect is. First timers usually do best with two pieces. The effect lasts twenty to forty minutes and wears off on its own.

Common questions

How long does the effect last?

20 to 40 minutes. It fades on its own and nothing needs to be done to reverse it.

Does it really keep until 2035?

Yes. The tin carries a best by date of March 2035, printed per lot. It is freeze-dried and hermetically sealed, which is why the date is so long. Nothing about it needs refrigeration.

What is a serving?

One piece, which is one berry half. Hold it on the tongue for about five seconds to rehydrate, then chew it and spread the pulp across your whole tongue for a full thirty seconds before swallowing. That thirty seconds is what determines how strong the effect is. First timers usually do best with two pieces.

How many servings in a tin?

Approximately 30, so roughly 120 per case of four.

Do I need a distributor account?

No. We ship direct. If you already buy through US Foods there is an approved number for that route as well.

Are there allergens?

None. The only ingredient is whole freeze-dried miracle berry halves.

Is it organic?

No. We are not certified organic and we do not claim it. We are Non-GMO Project certified.

Will you actually come and demo it?

Yes, and we would rather. Email us with your store and we will work out a date. Our founder runs the first ones personally.
